Giveaway: $20 Gift Voucher to Little Seouls or Little Seouls Party

It has been far too long since our last giveaway, so this is for all of my Korean peeps, fans of the Korean culture and those that have or know kids... that's right, everyone!

(Susanna and Esther circa 1978)

"Little Seouls was started by 2 sisters, Susanna and Esther back in July of 2008 after the adoption of Susanna’s daughter from Korea. Through her involvement in the adoption community, she realized many adoptive families had very little access to Korean children’s goods. Then a little lightbulb went on in her head and that’s how Little Seouls the idea was born.

Susanna spoke with her older sister Esther about the idea and she definitely agreed not only was there a need in the adoption community but also the Korean-American community.

Susanna and Esther were both born in the US by 1st generation parents. Growing up, they learned the language and customs through their parents. Now that they themselves are parents, they realized how much their culture and language will be lost in their own children since they rarely speak to them in Korean. Customs are still practiced except it’s become very fused with the American culture.

After researching for items for their own children, they too realized how hard it was to find things that taught the Korean language and culture.

Thus Little Seouls was born."

  6. I really like the Wishing Tree at Little Seouls Party. On the Little Seouls site, there are some wonderful Hangul resources that I'd love to get for the kids (posters, Pororo Hangul coloring book, etc).

  7. Hmmm, there is a lot of things that I would buy from Little Souls but I guess if I had to narrow it down I would by Korean lang. books or dvds for my daughter. Being an Korean adoptee myself & growing up in an all white comm. where there wasn't any resourses for me. & if there was I didn't know or find about them until I was an adult. My husband being a fellow KAD & since we had our daughter it is more important to us for her to know her heritage. Thanks to your sister Esther we have rented an hanbok for the 100th day celebration & a Dol. Hopefully when she gets a little bit older I would like to buy a hanbok from Little Seoul. Thank you.
